The TriHexa our logo

It shows the three fundamentals that guide the laboratory: People, Research and Publications.

These proposed fundamentals should fit perfectly as the hexagons shown in the logo, showing the union of the lab members, ability to add knowledge and strength of ethical and social values linked to the progress of the research to be conducted by Labis.

The LaBIS

The Laboratory for Integrative and Systemic Biology (LaBIS in portuguese) was founded in June 2014 and is located at the Center for Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering (CBMEG) of UNICAMP.

The main focus of our group is to understand the intricate interactions involved in the systemic biology from organisms of economic interest, ranging from the fungi and bacteria fermentation aiming the production of bioproducts, to the agriculture pest insects digestion. To do so, all our projects use classical and innovativecomputational biology and bioinformatics approaches, coupled with the use of large data analysis methods for Molecular Biology, integrating different sources of information.

The Laboratory for Integrative and System Biology (LaBIS) was funded in June, 2014 and is hosted at the Center for Biology Molecular and Genetic Engineering (CBMEG). The main investment for the LaBIS fundation was granted by FAPESP through the Young Investigator Project System Biology techniques applied to the agriculture: transcriptomes and interactomes analyses (FAPESP process 2011/00417-3).
The main focus of our group is to understand the intricate interactions involved on the organism system biology, ranging from fungi fermentation to insect digestion. We also work on the creation of tools that help researchers to better understand and identify a biochemical pathways from NGS data. At the same time, we are focused on BioIT, providing hardware to high performance analyses.
